But if you become a victim of identity theft, City National's check provider, Deluxe®, can reduce the impact. As of October 1, 2007, the “Basic” Deluxe ID TheftBlock® program is being provided free of charge to all customers who have:

You also have the option of upgrading to a low-cost “Plus” version of the program (see details below).
Free “Basic” recovery program: You do not need to register for ID TheftBlock® Basic. As a complimentary account benefit, it is already in place to help you with identity theft recovery. It provides:

Recovery support and resources - qualified personal assistance from an Identity Theft Recovery Unit for up to six months

Credit report - a professional recovery agent will review personal information and inquiries with you, to look for potential fraudulent activity

Credit report monitoring - monitoring of credit bureau activity each business day, for six months

Security aler ts - notification of certain credit report changes, additions or inquiries for six months

Expense reimbursement - up to $2,500 for qualified expenses as a result of identity theft, at no cost to you after a $250 deductible. (Insurance is underwritten by Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America and its property casualty affiliates, Hartford CT 06183. Coverage for all claims or losses depends on actual policy provisions. Availability of coverage can depend on underwriting qualifications and state regulations. Coverage is not available to New York residents.)
